OB Gear for 2MIA FM Griffith Community Radio

Technical Coordinator Josef Murwood selects D612 mixer and AEQ Mercury IP Codecs for flexibility in Outside Broadcast

Broadcast Components were delighted to work with 2MIA, and our partners, to offer multiple quotations to support a recent CBF Grant application. Due to the efforts of the team at 2MIA, along with the technical support and proposal documents provided by the Broadast Components sales team, 2MIA were successful in their grant application.

The Outside Broadcast system is composed of a full mixing console with headsets, plus two configured, duplex IP Codecs (AEQ Mercury), which allow bidirectional communication with the studio over the internet (3G/4G/4G+). The design uses the OPUS audio algorithm to minimise data consumption while maintaining audio quality, which allowed 2MIA to broadcast voice and music in stereo recently at the Griffith Showground. The equipment is supported by a UPS system supplied through Broadcast Components and the CBF Grant.

The connection remained flawless throughout the entire broadcast. The [D612] Console was simple enough to use and teach... We're excited to get all this gear hooked up and in the van as soon as we can!
