Darwin’s 97 Seven install new audio Processor

Darwin’s 97 Seven approached Broadcast Components for direction and help in purchasing a new audio processor for the station.

Broadcast Component worked closely with station manager, Phil Galvin, and technician, Bill “Spud” Murphy, providing information and pricing on three different units to help the station narrow down it’s requirements and find a unit best suited to their budget.

The station decided on a BW Broadcast DSPXmini Encore for it’s feature set and excellent price point. The Encore unit boasts a 4 band compressor, limiter and 4 band AGC. Additionally, the audio processor has an in built UECP compliant RDS encoder, web remote and email alert capability. MPX, analogue and AES audio input and output with multiple output pathways ensures the station are able process the FM feed and online stream.

With the support of Broadcast Components, Darwin’s 97 Seven were able to secure a rapid response grant from the Community Broadcast Foundation after their existing unit failed.

Station manager, Phil Galvin, said “Our station is now producing a sound we can be proud of. We could not have done it without the rapid response grant from CBF. Thank you Broadcast Components for your support and getting the gear to us in record time!”
