The Next Generation of Compact Broadcast Mixing Consoles
Broadcast Components is pleased to introduce the AEQ Capitol IP Plus, the successor to the highly successful Capitol IP digital broadcast console. Building on the proven workflow and reliability that broadcasters have trusted for years, the Capitol IP Plus delivers greater flexibility, enhanced connectivity, and expanded functionality for today’s radio and television production environments.
Designed for modern broadcast operations, the Capitol IP Plus combines a compact desktop footprint with powerful DSP processing, AoIP networking capabilities, and intuitive touchscreen control, making it ideal for on-air studios, production rooms, podcast facilities, and television control environments.
More Power, Same Simplicity
The Capitol IP Plus has been developed around AEQ‘s new M-Core Plus audio engine, providing a fixed I/O configuration that covers the requirements of most broadcast facilities while remaining highly expandable. Users benefit from streamlined operation while retaining access to advanced routing, processing, and monitoring features.
The console’s ergonomic design centres around a 10-fader control surface featuring individual channel displays, illuminated controls, and a high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen. Essential functions remain immediately accessible, while advanced settings are available through intuitive contextual menus, reducing operator workload and simplifying training.
Built for IP Workflows
As broadcast facilities continue their transition to networked audio, the Capitol IP Plus offers extensive AoIP integration with Dante and AES67 support. The standard configuration includes 16 bidirectional AoIP channels, with optional expansion to 32 channels for larger installations.
The M-Core Plus engine also provides:
- 4 microphone/line inputs
- 12 analogue line inputs
- 8 analogue outputs
- 4 AES/EBU stereo inputs
- 4 AES/EBU stereo outputs
- USB audio connectivity
- Comprehensive GPI/GPO control interfaces
- Optional redundant power supply
- Optional dual digital telephone hybrids
- Optional MADI connectivity for large-scale routing systems
Flexible Operation for Any Studio
Whether operating in self-op mode, traditional studio-control configurations, or small production environments, the Capitol IP Plus adapts easily to different workflows. Any input can be assigned to any fader, and complete console configurations can be saved and recalled using memory presets, allowing rapid changeovers between programs, presenters, or production requirements.
The console includes extensive audio processing capabilities, including:
- 4-band parametric EQ
- High-pass and low-pass filters
- Compressor/limiter
- Noise gate
- Balance and panorama controls
- Advanced routing and bus management
Remote Control with Virtual Capitol
For facilities requiring remote operation or expanded channel capacity, AEQ‘s optional Virtual Capitol software provides a complete virtual representation of the control surface on a Windows PC or iPad. Operators can remotely control faders, routing, EQ, monitoring, talkback functions, and console presets from anywhere on the network.
Compact Yet Comprehensive
Despite its extensive feature set, the Capitol IP Plus maintains an exceptionally compact footprint. The control surface measures just 585 mm wide, making it ideal for studios where desk space is at a premium. Available in both black and silver finishes, it offers a professional appearance suitable for modern broadcast facilities.
As AEQ‘s Australian distributor, Broadcast Components provides sales, technical support, installation assistance, and training for the complete AEQ product range.
For broadcasters looking to replace ageing consoles or upgrade to a modern IP-based platform, the AEQ Capitol IP Plus offers an outstanding balance of performance, flexibility, and operational simplicity.
